Thankful for all of you

I am struggling with the question "How are you?" these days.  I want to say we are doing well -- because we are.
I want to say we are having a hard time -- because, at times, we are.

I am thankful.  Thankful for God's many gifts to me:  my husband, our children, our families, our extended church community, friends and neighbors.  Everyone has been so good to us.

Thank you for the cards, shared verses, books, phone calls, meals, stuffed animals, counsel, CD's, and love.  Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for coming to the funeral.

My first Sunday back at church I was stopped at the door by a young bachelor who raises chickens and cows in our church.  "I have two frozen chickens and a roast in the freezer for you," he said, "I didn't think you would want me to cook them."

Another bachelor friend occasionally drops by at 9:30 or 10pm to cheer us up with his bad puns and let us know he is praying for us.

Being on the receiving end of all of this has helped me realize that doing what you can for people who are hurting, no matter what that is, does matter.  A good lesson for me who tends to delay waiting for the right thing to say, do or give.

I am thankful to know this isn't random bad luck.

We are leaning on Him.

I love you guys Sarah, and have been thinking and praying for you.  I've been wanting to drive up there and make you a meal, but with the flooding it hasn't happened....I'm glad you are relying on Christ for your strength and hope.  Take heart that you are being prayed for!

Thanks for the post Sarah.  I called last week to say "thankyou" for mailing my coat to me. (  I feel so BAD that you had to do that! ) But, in talking to John completely failed to mention it!!  I hate being so blonde !!

"...a young bachelor who raises chickens and cows in our church." Doesn't that make the services rather chaotic?!

Love you, dear. Thank you for letting us know how you're doing.

Thank you for the update.  I have been quite concerned; you've been on my mind and I have prayed for you a lot.  Thank you for sharing what you have learned.  It's helpful, since I struggle with knowing what to do or say.  I'm thankful that God is sustaining you.  Love you.

I'm so thankful to hear from you.  I too have wondered just how you all are doing.  Thank you for your openness and honesty.  I shall pass this on to my sisters who have been asking about you and how else to pray.  All of us continue to pray for you.
