I know most of you have heard our sad news. Our son, Tobias Henry, was stillborn on May 23rd at 37 weeks and 3 days. We learned at the ultrasound the previous day that his heart had stopped beating.
Tobias Henry was 6lbs 7oz and 21inches long. He had probably been dead several days before he was born. A knot was discovered in the fetal cord which was much longer and thinner than a normal cord.
After struggling to control my bleeding most of Friday and some transfusions I turned the corner during the night and was able to come home Saturday afternoon. Our doctors and nurses were all very kind, but I am very thankful to be home and am recovering well.
The last few days have been very difficult for us and we know they have been hard for the many people who love us. Thank you for your prayers, your phone calls and emails. God has been good to us and is giving us strength. Many people have given us assistance and many more have offered help.
We will be having a memorial service for Tobias at Bible Presbyterian Church in Walker, Iowa at 1pm this Friday.
